What is Milia / Skin Tag?

Milia seed is commonly known as oil seeds. Milia is keratin-filled bumps that usually develop around the eye and nose area. It is usually looks a bit white or yellowish on the surface.  

​

Skin tag are little flaps of tissue that adhere to parts of your neck, underarms, eyelids, groin folds or even under breast. Although they may look a little strange, but they often do not hurt and pose no known medical problems.

ABOUT MILIA SEED

 

Milia are commonly found on the skin of people of all ages. They are formed when keratin (a substance produced by the skin) becomes entrapped beneath the outer layer of the skin, forming a tiny cyst. An individual milium (the singular of milia) is formed at the base of a hair follicle or sweat gland. 

Milia can be categorized as either primary or secondary. Primary milia are formed directly from entrapped keratin and are usually found on the faces of infants and adults. Secondary milia are also tiny cysts and look similar, but these develop after something clogs the ducts leading to the skin surface, such as after an injury, burn, or blistering of the skin.

 

脂肪粒也称为油粒、油疱，常出现在脸部尤其是眼睛周围。很多人以为眼部油粒形成原因是眼霜太滋润造成，其实这只是其中一个原因，

脂肪粒的起因是皮肤上有微小的伤口，在皮肤自行修复的过程中，产生白色的小囊肿。也有可能是皮脂被角质覆盖，造成油脂不能正常排出表皮外，而堆积皮肤内形成的白色颗粒。

​

另外， 内分泌失调、油脂分泌旺盛，皮肤没得到及时彻底清洁，使毛孔堵塞，多余脂肪无法排出，脸上就会出现突起的脂肪粒。除此之外，高胆固醇、用眼过度、不正确的保养习惯、遗传因素等都可能造成脂肪粒。

 

ABOUT SKIN TAG

 

Skin tags are invariably benign - non cancerous - tumors of the skin which cause no symptoms, unless it is repeatedly rubbed or scratched, as may happen with clothing, jewelry, or when shaving. Very large skin tags may burst under pressure.

 

Skin tags are composed of a core of fibers and ducts, nerve cells, fat cells, and a covering or epidermis.

 

Some people are more susceptible to tags, either because of their overweight, partly due to heredity, and often for unknown reasons. People with diabetes and pregnant women tend to be more prone to skin tags. Dermatologists say that skin tags affect males and females equally.

 

皮赘，或俗称为肉粒、垂疣、息肉，常出现在眼皮、腋窝、颈项等处。肉粒除了有碍美观，并不会威胁健康，更不是癌质肿瘤。

肉粒是由表皮所包围的真皮结缔组织形成，组织疏松水肿，含有许多毛细血管，触感松软。肉粒颜色、形状和大小各有所异，但内部结构大致相同。

FAQ 

1. Is skin tag and milia seed removal painful ? 
     Very minimum, we will apply a thin layer of numbing cream before the procedure, it helps to minimize the painful
     the sensation.  Dont worry, totally bearable :) 

 

2. Any downtime for skin tag and milia seed removal? 

    It will scab in 4-10 days, but you may still carry on your daily activities as usual, including putting on your make up on
    next day etc. Apply repair gel for speedy recovery. 

 

3. Will the skin tag or milia seed grows back after removal? 

    It wont grow back afte procedure, but due to you lifestyle and health condition, it may grows new milia seed on other
    area. Milia seed or skin tag usually take years to grow bigger, by then you just need to come back for another removal .

 

4. Is it safe? Will it leaving a scar? 
    Yes, it is safe. It wouldnt leave any scar, some poeple may enter slight slow healing due to personal condition. However,
    diabetes patient, pregnant women, cancer patient, post-cancer patient should avoid this procedure.

5. Will the milia seed of skin tag come back after removal?     
    The milia seed or skin tag will not come back after removal.
